Sally Jo Rüedi was born in England and is organist of the Reformed Churches of Nidau, Oberwil bei Büren, Büren an der Aare and of the Christ Catholic Franziskanerkirche in Solothurn, Switzerland. After studying music and primary education in England she later moved to Switzerland where she initially worked as primary and music teacher at the British School, Bern. She later studied organ under Wolfgang Sieber in Lucerne and was awarded the "Lehrdiplom für Orgel" in 2010. 

As a soloist she regularly performs in various churches and concert cycles in the region and is also an innovative initiator of cross-over projects with solists and ensembles from wide ranging musical backgrounds.

Sally Jo Rüedi is active as a composer and songwriter. She has written music for organ, piano, voices and chamber music as well as music and texts for pop songs. Her music to the song "Bright World" was performed at the opening of the UN World Summit for the Information Society. More recently she has turned her attention to the revolutionary new "wind dynamic" Metzler organ of the Stadtkirche Biel, exploring the new tonal possibilities of this instrument in her work "Kotura - Herr der Winde". She performed this work on a further occasion in September 2020 at the Organ Festival for the inauguration of the new Metzler organ in the concert hall of the Stadtcasino Basel.  A CD of her works for organ is due to be released in 2021.

Sally Jo Rüedi wurde in England geboren und ist Organistin an den Reformierten Kirchen Nidau, Oberwil bei Büren, Büren an der Aare, und an der Franziskanerkirche in Solothurn. Nach abgeschlossenem Musikstudium und der Ausbildung zur Primarlehrerin in England zog sie in die Schweiz wo sie anfänglich als Primar- und Musiklehrerin an The British School, Bern tätig war. Ab 2005 bildete sie sich im Fach Orgel bei Wolfgang Sieber weiter und schloss ihr Studium mit dem Lehrdiplom für Orgel im Herbst 2010 ab. Als Solistin konzertiert sie in diversen Konzertzyklen  und wendet sich auch die Kammermusik zu, z.B. mit diversen Ensembles, Chören, Solisten.

 

Als Komponistin hat Sally Jo Rüedi Musik für Orgel, Klavier, Gesang und Kammermusik geschrieben. Ihre Liedkomposition "Bright World" wurde für die Eröffnungszeremonie der UNO "Weltgipfel über die Informationsgesellschaft" im Genfer Palexpozentrum aufgeführt. 2012 hat sie sich mit der neuartigen „winddynamischen“ Metzler-Orgel in der Stadtkirche Biel auseinandergesetzt und liess die neuen Klangmöglichkeiten in ihrem Werk „Kotura – Herr der Winde“ entfalten. Eine weitere Aufführung dieses Werks fand im  Orgel Festival für die Einweihung der neuen Orgel der Stadtcasino Basel in 2020 statt. 2017 erhielt sie den Auftrag, ein Chorwerk «The Moon» für das 10-jährige Jubiläum des Rossini Vokalensembles aus Biel zu komponieren. In 2021 wird eine CD ihrer Werke für Orgel veröffentlicht.
